Through conversations during the conceptualisation of the report, we realised the most important aspect was to make such a vast topic feel tangible, real and human scale. The contrast of a collage aesthetic against quantitative data helped bring the entire report into daily reality.
Reshaping a global landscape
2024 brought vibrant shows of climate activism at both global and local levels, propelled in great part by social media.
In addition to students, professionals, too, went on strike to raise awareness of the climate crisis and demand change. One remarkable event, The Great Coral Rest, brought millions of people to the streets. From Sydney to Nairobi, tens of thousands of citizens dressed in white and laid motionless to represent the threatened ecosystems.
These grassroots movements were not limited to protest: initiatives to improve local resilience and sustainability became more prominent.
2024 left its mark as a year when technological innovation and community activism combined to create powerful momentum for climate action and adaptation.
